FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (or even Seldomly)

What size is the KARGA?

The size of the KARGA is based on the size of your vehicle. This is because of the distance between the front seat and the back seat, the height of the back seat and the shape of the back seat, all impact the fit of a KARGA and vary from vehicle to vehicle. With bolsters designed to hug passengers, it can be a trickier fit than flatter shapes. So, the best way to find out what will work with your vehicle is to start with the vehicle selector at the top of the page. Once entered, this will return specific products and a box with green writing that says what works in your vehicle. For example, a Ford F-250 takes a Full Size, Chevy Tahoe uses a Crossover and a Toyota Tacoma takes a 40% midsize or a 50%.

What does 40% mean?

40% means the equivalent to one seat, one person, or one butt, in the back seat. Is it exactly 40%, probably not. But we want you to know that by using 40% (or less) for KARGA provided storage, you still have more than half available for other uses, like humans, dogs or oxygen.

What does 50% mean?

It means half. Nothing crazy. The 50% KARGA is designed to go to the middle of the back seat, which we are calling 50%. It is larger than 40% and smaller than 60%.

Why are most of the KARGAS for the 40% side?

Because we believe your dog and friends should still be included in your life. Also, 40% is the equivalent to one person, which is sufficient for many situations.

What is the difference between the 40% and 50%?

The difference is about 4.3" in length and 2" in width, and the 50% is rotated 90 degrees, making the long distance toward the center of the backseat as opposed to the long distance on the 40% which goes toward the front seat. Additionally, the reason to pick one over the other comes down to how you use your vehicle. If you want to be able to adjust the 60% side of your back seat, it is easier to do this with the 40%. The 50% will keep you from being able to move it. That said, if you need a larger shelf, it is an option. Hope this helps.

What are the outside dimensions of the various KARGAs?

Full-size 25" x 20.7"

Crossover size: 23.7" x 18.6"

Midsize: 20.7" x 18.6"

50% size: 20.7" x 25" (longer attachment steel rod)

Where should I put my KARGA if I like my seat all the way back and I'm 6'6"?

If your seat is all the way back and tilted, you likely will touch the KARGA in many vehicles and because it is made out of automotive materials, it isn't flexible. It won't move out of the way. So, you might consider putting it behind the passenger seat as an option. Of course, we don't know the size of the people in the passenger seat so it is hard to say and all of this varies from vehicle to vehicle. Many full size rigs have space for tall people and some of the midsize rigs don't, so there is no one size fits all. In the end, you might be able to use a single level, but think about the size of items you hope to carry on it, because you might end up touching them.

The best thing to do is to measure the KARGA within your specific vehicle and see if you have the space you need to be comfortable.

What vehicles work with the KARGA?

We are constantly adding to the Year, Make and Model app found on the site, but if you don't see your vehicle on the list, please send an email to support@63ind.com.

Why back seat storage?

Just because vehicles were designed to carry humans in the back seat, doesn't mean it isn't prime real estate that you should use however you want. We promise no back seat fairies will be offended.

Why should I buy a KARGA?

Because you want better storage inside your vehicle. The KARGA provides secure storage that is easily accessible (usually right behind the driver's seat). The KARGA attaches to your vehicle at either the built in seat hinge or metal child seat/isofix adapters, which provide a sturdy and reliable platform. From here it is possible to safely transport whatever it is you need for work or fun, and have it where you placed it at the beginning of the drive.

What vehicles work with the Seat Delete KARGA?

The Seat Delete only works with the Toyota Tacoma (2nd-3rd gen). You Taco people are the lucky ones. The Seat Delete KARGA fits like a glove, provides the most storage and is the reason the KARGA exists. We apologize that it isn't available for other vehicles because we like you too.

What vehicle is ideal for the Stand Alone/self standing KARGA?

Any vehicle that has d-rings to attach to in the cargo or back seat areas can use a Stand Alone KARGA. This might be a RAV4 or Suburban in the cargo area or a full size truck that wants it to sit on the floor. The Stand Alone KARGA provides instant access to whatever you transport; no moving every crate or bag to get to what you want. Ahhhhh

How much weight can I put on a KARGA?

We recommend not exceeding 75 pounds per level, which equals to 150 pounds of gear carrying possibilities on the double levels. Always secure your loads. Really.

What is wrong with carrying bowling balls on the top level? Death!

While this is a very interesting physics experiment, we are concerned about the potential consequences and discourage doing anything that might injure you or another occupant in your vehicle. Safe is good. Keep heavy roundy things low and enclosed. Find another spot for your science experiments then send us cool videos.

What materials make up a KARGA?

PC-ABS, 12 gauge steel, custom aluminum extrusions, ACM (Aluminum Composite Material), TPU, and neoprene mats. Here and there in the world you might see images of our 3d development parts, but the final KARGA is injection molded PC-ABS.

Where is the KARGA made?

In an industrial center in Ketchum, Idaho, facing the cemetery where Ernest Hemingway rests. Specifically, 500 Bell Drive, Unit 11, Ketchum, ID 83340. If you are in the area, please stop by for a quick tour or show us how you use your KARGA.

How do I know the KARGA is well designed?

After making products for other companies for almost 30 years, Tasche is able to deliver a thoughtfully designed and manufactured product that will bring you years of utility and happiness. Some of his clients include the US Marines, US Navy, Weyerhaeuser, DECKED and many more.

What is the guarantee?

We guarantee it will rock, but we also will take back any KARGA that has not been abused. If you haven't driven over it with a cement truck and realize it isn't your cup of tea, we are happy to take it back. We just ask that you tell us why you aren't happy.

Once I order, what happens?

The magic begins! We wake up the elves (which goes pretty fast), then they assemble the materials (also pretty speedy), we have a secret party where we thank you for finding us in this great big world (whoosh), we put together your box (the time depends on amount of tape needed), then drive it to the appropriate carrier (this requires a 1 mile drive with light traffic most of the time (small town)).

The whole process can take 1-2 days depending on when you order and what orders are in the cue. Then, we send you the shipping info when it is heading your way! Yay! Usually we have a shipping celebration too, but this might be TMI?

Does anyone care if I have a brilliant development idea related to the KARGA that will rock the world?

We care. Share away. NDA's are fine. Please send an email to support@63ind.com.

Will you mail heavy things to Bahrain or beyond?

Of course. We are happy to include the cost of shipping to wherever you prefer. We are here to serve! Just proceed to checkout, enter your address and shipping options should appear. Bam. If this doesn't happen, please send an email with the product you prefer and the address to use to support@63ind.com, then we'll send you the shipping cost. Once you approve the shipping cost, we'll send an invoice.
