Karga - Single Level 'Over-The-Seat' contains PC-ABS, 12 gauge galvanized steel, custom aluminum extrusions, ACM (Aluminum Composite Material), glass filled nylon adapters, PCU feet, neoprene mat, cord tensioners and p-cord. If you see a picture with 3d parts, it was in the development phase, but the finished KARGA is not a printed good.
One of the many reasons we recommend the KARGA - Single Level 'Over-The-Seat' is it does not touch the seat, so wear is limited and upholstery is protected, which is ideal. This is accomplished with two glass filled nylon child seat adapters that are supported with an aluminum composite lateral piece that provide strength and rigidity.
Another benefit is not needing to store the seat someplace when the KARGA is installed; the seat just sits there quietly. Good seat.
This KARGA goes over the 40% side of the backseat, although it can go over the 60% side too, then anchors with the built in baby seat attachments. This is a very sturdy installation that only takes a few minutes and can be accomplished easily and removed whenever you want to use the space another way (ex: carry humans).
To build out your KARGA system, you need to consider how you would like to contain or hold down your load. What are you going to carry? Do you want sides? Straps? Another level? All KARGAS come with a mat, net and hardware, which might be all that you need.
The flat platform is 18" x 19" for midsize trucks and most full size trucks (except the Tundra Double cab) get a 19" x 23.75". The Tundra Double cab gets the smaller platform because of space. All KARGAS have a 75 pound load capacity per level.
